Community Advisory Committee
Front Porch Investments’ Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is comprised of individuals directly impacted by historical redlining and systemic disinvestment. The committee amplifies local voices and ensures the Greenlining Fund addresses critical community needs. The CAC shares decision-making power through participatory grantmaking in partnership with the community, FPI staff, and the FPI board.
The CAC plays a pivotal role in guiding the work of the Greenlining Fund by:
- Advising FPI staff and board on fund allocation strategies
- Conducting research to identify pressing issues and resource gaps
- Providing feedback on innovative solutions to address those gaps
- Reviewing the effectiveness of Greenlining Fund grant and loan programs and offering recommendations for continuous improvement
Committee members draw from their lived experiences and actively engage with the broader community to identify its most urgent needs. They provide valuable input on potential investments to address these challenges and assess outcomes to ensure funds are used effectively and equitably. Additionally, each cohort participates in selecting new committee members to ensure continuity and representation.
To support their contributions, CAC members receive training, professional development opportunities, and equitable compensation for their time and expertise.
CAC members serve staggered two-year terms, with half of the committee transitioning off each year to maintain continuity and fresh perspectives. The CAC began meeting in November 2022 and continues to play a critical role in shaping the Greenlining Fund’s impact.
